Numbercrunching: Viz Comic #200
The longest running adult comic book in Britain, Viz Comic has just hit issue 200. A true milestone for this bi-monthly/ten times a year magazine. A mixture between classic children's comics but through the adolescent/adult mix, social satire and a keen appreciation for worldplay, Viz is the natural successor to the likes of Oz – and fitting that it should be Felix Dennis who is now publishing it.
The 200th issue features the cast of Viz on a capsizing boat. Captained by Mr Logic going down with the ship, Brown Bottle, Roger Mellie and Jonny Fartpants are heading to be mauled by a Crap Shark. Suicidal Syd has tied himself to the boat, 8 Ace is drunk, and the Fat Slags are performing the stern scene from Titanic – and causing the ships predicament due to their weight. Meanwhile we are promised the word of Prince on Mince.

And what does Prince think about mince anyway? "I'm a sod for mince. Or at least I was before I became a vegan. I suppose you could say I'm "the artist formerly prone to mince". Thanks Prince. And here's to another 200…
