Retailers Just Got an Advance Best of 2000AD Volume #1 With Added Details

The Best Of 2000AD is a new publication launching in a US-comic book-sized 100-page colour perfect-bound format, reprinting classic 2000AD stories from over the series forty-plus years. It will have a Best of 2000AD #0 for Free Comic Book Day, but the first issue will launch on April 29th 2020, the Wednesday before. And yesterday, comic book retailers got a preview of the first issue of the full-size one-hundred-page comic book, with this cover by Jamie McKelvie.

We also learned a few more details. That the series would be twelve issues long, for the first volume at least. Each issue will begin with a self-contained standalone Judge Dredd story. And betraying its British sensibilities, the first issue will be discounted to readers, rather than the usual Marvel trick of charging more for a first issue. Issue 1 will be just $4.99 for 100 pages, with subsequent issues at $7.99. And advance orders for issue 1 and 2 will have a greater discount for retailers than most other comics on the stand.

With news on the back of what the look of The Best of 2000AD would be for the following months, with covers by Becky Cloonan, Charlie Adlard, Erica Henderson and Annie Wu.
