Robot Chicken Writes Jughead

Tom Root, co-producer and co-head writer of the successful Robot Chicken series for Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network is writing comics…. and it's Jughead, Archie's burger obsessed numbskull. Apparently. I can't read Archie comics, I'm sorry, something happens to my head when I try and I just drift off. They look fine and all… but no. Must be because I'm British, I think. I'm allergic.

Anyway, apparently this will be for Jughead #200 and a story that will see Jughead do a deal with a witch, exchanging his prodigious metabolism for a cheese burger. So he starts to put on weight massively, Archie offers to exchange his pure heart to get Jughead's metabolism back… (pure heart, see that's one of the reasons) and everyone in Riverdale starts toing metaphysical trades.

Which all sounds very fun and silly. It's just… well, it's Archie isn't it? You may have greater tolerance than me.

Tom Root has had a long history in and around comics, initially creating the fumetti Twisted Toyfare Theatre strip for Wizard's Toyfare magazine from which Robot Chicken emerged. And Archie characters starred in the Robot Chicken Final Destination parody.

Jughead #200 will ship in March for $2.50. I may try to read it after a few antihistamine tablets.
