I was backstage at the New York Comicon right before Stan the Man and Neal Adams were about to go on a panel to discuss it. I was the first one to get the teaser poster for it, autographed by Stan and Neal.
If it gets comics fans interested in hockey, great. If it gets hockey fans interested in comics, great. In the meantime, according to the article… hockey fans are bitching about it. Nice to know that the default reaction of hockey fans appears to be the same as comics fans: It's gonna suuuuuuck!.

The CBLDF's Charles Brownstein On The Steven Kutzner Sentencing
Kutzner and Handley were both Federal prosecutions arising from the PROTECT Act, which was written in part to criminalize the possession of "obscene" depictions of minors, and has, in practice, morphed into an attempt to prohibit the possession of any sexual depiction that involves minors, even if no actual children are depicted and the image is entirely imaginary. These cases aren't really about laws being entrenched in specific localities, they're more about the enforcement of a really bad Federal law and a presumption of obscenity that isn't tried by a jury.
Design a Superhero Costume for Mayor Adams | Blogtown, PDX
After considering and rejecting several Portlandia jokes, I've decided I'm for this. It's a clever, light-hearted way to highlight the mayor's support for the city's comics industry while also raising some scratch for homeless kids. Who can argue with that?
TOTAL RECHARGE: Milligan on "Red Lanterns" – Comic Book Resources
Yes, amid the blood, death, gore and pain, I hope to shoe-horn in some savage satire and outright weirdness.

Is DC dropping the Comics Code just another cost-cutting measure? at Comics212
I've also heard rumblings that I cannot really talk about that DC is going back to press on fewer titles than ever right now. Basically if it's not making a certain sales target, it doesn't get reprinted, regardless of whether or not it's volume 1 of a series of trades that are still coming out.
