So What's The Scoop On DeadpoolMAX?
Okay, I am hurting with joy at this news. And it's over a new Deadpool series, who'd have thought?
Yes, it's another monthly Deadpool book. With three big differences. One, it's a MAX title. Which means we can get extreme violence, extreme language and nudity. Which probably suit Deadpool more than any other Marvel character.
Two, it's written by David Lapham who has really proved his willingness to take it to the edge with Crossed: Family Values.
And three, it's drawn by Kyle Baker, one of the greatest living cartoonists and whose work on The Cowboy Wally Show, Birth Of A Nation, Why I Hate Saturn and The Bakers is the stuff a genius is made of.
Editor Axel Alonzo describes it as "Will it be sophomoric? Yes. Will it be fun? Yes. Will it be smart? Define smart. Will there be cameos by some of your favorite superheroes and villains? Yes…when I'm allowed to."
Well, I understand that they're making it a proper buddy comic. Deadpool on the paypacket of the government, going around killing the kind of people the government want killed, with Agent Bob (ex of Hydra) as his handler trying to point him in the right direction and reduce collateral damage.
Yeah, this could be fun.
And look, courtesy of CBR, Peter Bagge Deadpool to boot…
