NYCC: Tony S Daniel To Join Andy Diggle On Action Comics
Bleeding Cool already ran the news that Andy Diggle was to take over Action Comics as writer after Grant Morrison's departure with issue 17. But who will join him as artist?
Turns out it's Tony S Daniel, recently seen on Detective Comics and Justice League. I'm told by DC sources that he's switching to art-only for a while after writing Detective Comics for a year, to give him a bit of a mental break.
Still, I wonder how smooth such a switch would be? I've rather enjoyed Daniel's writing work of late, as well as his art, it will be interesting to see how a more traditional creator like him meshes with the more anti-superhero vibe of Andy Diggle, someone who is more "capers than capes" as he once put it.
Expect all this to be announced and confirmed on Thursday's Superman panel at NYCC. Bleeding Cool will have Dan Hart in the audience to report back.
Whether this was Tony's big new project to be announced at NYCC, or if that has been put on the back burner for now, we'll have to wait and see.
