Tuesday Morning – When Haterz Become Loverz

Our cat died today. Zoe, she'd been getting on a bit and was starting to get doddery. We had an appointment with the vet today and I was fearing the worst, something which she spared us. We'll be having the talk with our eldest daughter Eve today, Alice will remain blissfully ignorant – just that one of her favourite snuggly toys is missing.

So anyway. Comics.

FilmWatch: The Birmingham Post reports that local comic book Hunter from Dare Comics has been bought up by Scarlet Films. Comic writer Adam Hamby will be writing the screenplay.

FilmWatch (2): Chud lets us know that the writers of the excellent Zombieland movie may be taking on Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.

Between Ryan Reynolds insisting that Deadpool would break the fourth wall and the fact that the studio is at least talking with the writers of Zombieland, we could actually be looking at a film from Fox that doesn't suck. Weird, huh?

BendisWatch: One of the Bendis Haterz becomes one of the Bendis Loverz, with a public apology to Brian based on comments regarding Secret Invasion.

Dear Brian Michael Bendis: I am sorry I doubted you. If "Secret Invasion" was a good idea poorly executed, "Dark Reign" is a bad idea exquisitely executed.

DebtWatch: Felix Serrano adds to the piece on Devil's Due, laying out his own issues with the company. He writes;

I have Friends who are owed money dating back to 2002 when DDP was Just starting to get hot with GI JOE. I know of other freelancers who would cringe at the thought of working for DDP because of their 90 day term policy… If the company did not have the resources at the time to pay for the services then they should not have scheduled the book.
