Tuesday Trending Topics: Does DC Have A Hole Card?
52 cards in the deck, not too many left to turn over. As I've been watching the responses to our ever-updating list of DC September title launches, one thing is clear — lots and lots of people are hoping some of their remaining favorites are still among the titles yet to be revealed. Some of those rumors will be wrong, but even so — we're getting to the end of this unveiling.
Perusing the list as it stands now, I was struck by the historical diversity there. Not just raw chronology, but in bringing properties from DC's lines and historical acquisitions front and center in the DCU: There's the Vertigo reintegration, obviously. But there's also Wildstorm and Charlton characters represented. Will there be any Quality Comics line or Fawcett characters in there (I don't see any at a glance, but it's late)?
As we start to get a glimpse of the bigger picture here, there seems to be an attempt to cover every era, and every company-owned corner. All of which leads me to wonder what the final reveal will be. And I'm beginning to wonder if Jim Lee and Geoff Johns might have something internet-breakingly huge left to announce this weekend after all.
It couldn't be, could it…?

An Updatable List Of The 52 DC Titles For September
So, what do we know about upcoming DC books in September (I'll count JLA #1 for completeness sake, even though it's a week early,) Red is still a Bleeding Cool rumour. Green is a confirmed Bleeding Cool rumour. Blue is a CBR rumour. Black is a straight confirmation.
Then there's another new book, Demon Knights #1, superheroes in medieval times, written by Paul Cornell. And Frankenstein, Agent of SHADE #1 again written by Jeff Lemire, SHADE standing for The Super Human Advanced Defense Executive, from his Seven Soldiers mini-series.
Is This The De-AlanMooreification Of The DC Universe?
Well, it's tempting to think that people at DC, especially Geoff Johns, whose Blackest Night was singled out by Moore, might have taken this to heart. And why?

DC Cancellations: Northlanders [UPDATED With Additional Info From Brian Wood]
Not only is Brian Wood no longer DC exclusive, not only was he ditched from Supergirl days before the DC Relaunch announcements, not only is DMZ coming to an end (his choice), but now I understand that DC have prematurely cancelled their Vertigo comic Northlanders, Wood's ongoing series of series set amongst the harsh northern European landscapes a thousand years or more ago.
Comic writer/artist/messiah Mike Netzer has responded to the David Goyer story that enraged a nation in Action Comics #900 in his own special way. Picturing a glorious future in that vein, with Superman recruiting both Wonder Woman and Batman. And with DC Comics relaunching their line, what better time for the central DC characters to take on a more political vein? And return to Tehran under a different banner…
The Massive by Brian Wood and Kristian Donaldson
The Massive is a new upcoming comic book by Brian Wood and Kristian Donaldson. Both have worked together previously on Wood's DMZ for Vertigo.

BBFC Refuses Human Centipede 2 A UK Release Certificate
It's not fair to say that the BBFC have "banned" Tom Six's Human Centipede sequel, but I'm sure a lot of people will do so. What they've done is denied it a certificate. This means that any cinema in the UK looking to screen it will need to get special dispensation from their local council.
