There's been quite the discussion of spoilers of late. Dan Slott seems to think they're fine to do them openly without warning on CNN but not a followup piece hidden behind spoiler warnings on Bleeding Cool. Others are now saying that spoilers enhance the enjoyment of a story.
But what happens when the spoilers come from the very top?
Such as Axel Alonso's comment in a recent interview on CBR, talking about diversity in Marvel characters.
"Also, Striker just came out of the closet in "Avengers Academy," and Wiccan and Hulkling continue to play a huge role in "Young Avengers/Avengers: Children's Crusade." I feel like I'm just getting started."
"Just came out?" Or… about to come out? Christos Gage has been tweeting;
"Regarding Striker: Make sure to pick up AVENGERS ACADEMY #23 in a couple weeks. I'll have a lot more to say when the story's out!"
Can we expect another spate of media interest around then? And which right-leaning opinion blog will be the first to use "The Gayvengers" as a passive insult? Here's a page from that upcoming issue.
If you're not sure who Striker is, he's the one being beaten up by a girl.
