Who Will You Vote For In The Time Magazine 100?
Time Magazine's Top 100 Influential People has released it's 200-long shortlist. So, if geek has inherited the earth, who are we going to vote for?
DC's president Diane Nelson should be a shoo-in for our votes, as should Neil Gaiman and Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, the The Penny Arcade Co-Creators for more comic-book-related props. But who else is worth a geek vote or two?
Well, James Cameron gave us Avatar. Dave Eggers founded McSweeney's for a new high-faluting better-than-thou run of comic book works (which I adore), Neil Patrick Harris embodied Dr Horrible, and he's also played Flash and Spider-Man in the cartoons, Barack Obama is our Geek-In-Chief, Stephen Colbert still has Captain America's shield on his wall and is always on hand to plug Joe Quesada (not present on the list), The Lost Creators get their own combined entry but somehow J.J. Abrams gets is own special one, there are other powerful geeks and creators in Seth MacFarlane, Jon Stewart, Peter Molyneux, Banksy, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Jobs and Quentin Tarantino
Of course the whole thing turns to absolute nonsense when you realise they included Cheryl Cole as well.
