Silver Surfer Overcomes His Impotence in Annihilation Scourge: Silver Surfer #1 [Preview]
Annihilation Scourge: Silver Surfer #1 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, by Dan Abnett and Paul Davidson, continuing this latest rehashing of Annihilation as one of several transitional mini-crossover events to keep Marvel readers busy while Marvel works on its next big super-mega-crossover events. We've got a preview below.
In the preview, we find the Surfer witness to a negative zone refugee being sucked into a planet's gravity, soon to burn up upon entering the atmosphere.
Sadly, the Surfer is unable to help, rendered impotent by his ghost state. Listen, Norrin, it happens to every guy once in a while.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of scientific understanding of the nature of the Silver Surfer's… er… powers, there's not much that can be done.
The Surfer will need to overcome this problem on his own, by sheer force of will, tensing all his muscles and concentrating, with all his might, to release a single… THUKK.
Yay! The Surfer has overcome the physical blockage and saved the day… though it looks like, emotionally, he still has some issues he needs to deal with.
Annihilation Scourge: Silver Surfer #1 hits stores on Wednesday.
