The Batman Who Laughs: Bring the Nightmare Home
In September of 2017, writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo, longtime shepherds of Batman, introduce a new horror to the DC universe with the Batman Who Laughs. This alternate universe nightmare made his first appearance in Dark Days: The Casting #1 and, while it wasn't immediately clear what this role this character would play, it was later revealed that this villain is Bruce Wayne from another Earth in the Dark Multiverse. Early on, this version of Bruce Wayne started out just like the iconic hero from the version of the DC universe we know, he was driven to kill the Joker after the clown prince committed a series of heinous acts. Ending the Joker's life led to the release of a toxin that poisoned Batman, turning him into a Jokerized version of himself that would go on to seek immense cosmic power. This villainous Bruce Wayne has garnered quite the fanbase, and you can now add an original, spine-tingling illustration featuring the horrific Batman Who Laughs drawn by Derek Laufman, creator of RuinWorld and BOT-9 and designer of Marvel Super Hero Adventures. Just check this thing out.
