The Best Fifteen Pages Of Free Comics You'll Read Today
Remember Igor Kordey? Yeah, you know, the guy who filled in for Ethan Van Sciver who was filling in for Frank Quitely on Grant Morrison's New X-Men, a book whose schedule had gone widely awry and who, as a result, was brought on to draw a number of issues in around a week each. And the art… well, it sucked. The storytelling was fine, but naturally it was a rush job. And it was such a shame, up to that point, Kordey had been building a reputation as a more detailed artist. New X-Men blew all of that out of the window.
His work on the Smoke graphic novel was gorgeous, but seen by few, and that's been the case with much of his work since. Well, today that changes. He has a new comic that he's both written and drawn, and the first chapter is free on Act-I-Vate today. Kordey has created a style that is both detailed but also loose. And the topic blends modern day living with Western iconography. I won't say any more, that might just spoil it.
Here are the first three pages. Go read the rest there. And then keep reading with each new chapter…
