Walking Dead #180 is More About the Politics Than Ever Before
We are at Walking Dead #180 already. Otherwise known as three-fifths of a Cerebus. You know I am sure that figure is keeping Todd McFarlane and Erik Larsen going as well. Published by Image Comics/Skybound and created by Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, Stefano Gaudiano and Cliff Rathburn.
The final chapter of New World Order, with Together Strong to come on 4th July. And for those of you wishing politics out of comics a) Garfield is waiting for you b) even though he represents a libertarian laissez-faire archetype and c) that's what Walking Dead is. The execution of power, how power maintains itself, how people support that power and are complicit in that execution, and how that power can be challenged and replaced.
Recently, the cast of the Walking Dead have travelled to find a new community, caught on the radios, and encountered a new city group, the Commonwealth. With an emphasis on maintaining the same status quo before the rise of the zombies. A class system with the 1% with the rest of the 1%. Including lawyer Michonne's brand new pad.
While the Governor makes her approach to Rick Grimes and his crew back on the Hilltop. Who has a very different, more Bernie Saunders way of doing things… once the military crew has been dispatched. Actually, no, that probably would be the same.
And the Governor, right is totally Hillary Clinton. Oh and Donald Trump? Obviously the zombie hordes. This is how this thing works. So there you are, politics and the Walking Dead. Are you not entertained?
Ooh, ooh, someone's going to say the arc title, someone's going to say the arc title…
Together Strong….
