Where In The DC Universe Year Of The Villain is Aquaman? What About Mera?

Since the events of the Aquaman/Justice League crossover, Drowned Earth, Aquaman has become Amnesiaquaman, living on an island with a bunch of deities in hiding, as part of a new storyline by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Robson Rocha. I've rather enjoyed it.

But DC's Year of The Villain, which prominently features Black Manta as one of the Legion Of Doom does seem to be missing both Aquaman and Mera. Now clearly, Arthur is still on the island. But, in a wide ranging thematic call to arms to the DC Universe to tackle Perpetua in the DC's Year of The Villain he was rather absent.

Otherwise known as 'everyone but Aquaman'. Even Krypto The Dog and Supergirl-in-a-miniskirt gets a call. Barry Allen was off-panel. But no Aquaman – or Mera, who has been standing in for Arthur as a Justice League member.

He's meant to tie in certainly..

You know what? Aquaman can talk to fish – control fish, even. What's the betting that Perpetua counts, given her splashing about in the primordial ooze of reality…
