Hasbro Is Bringing Back Tiger Electronics

Hasbro has decided to bring back a little '90s nostalgia in gaming as they will release a new set of Tiger Electronics handheld LCD video games. There will be four games released in total, each one costing $15 a pop. They are Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Disney's Little Mermaid, Transformers' Generation 2, and Marvel's X-Men: Project X. To be clear, these are not brand new games, they're all old-school games that were once released. I myself owned the X-Men one you see here. Hasbro is simply bringing them back as a new line, which will debut at the New York Toy Fair this weekend. We have info on all four below, which you can already pre-order as they'll be out sometime this summer.

• TIGER ELECTRONICS: TRANSFORMERS' GENERATION 2 ELECTRONIC LCD Video Game

Inspired by the original from the 1990s, play as Optimus Prime and battle to stop the Decepticons from causing total destruction. Go through four stages of play defeating enemy bosses, ending with the final defeat of STARSCREAM. The design and technology were created with the original handheld game unit in mind. Requires 2 AA batteries, not included. Available for pre-order here.

• TIGER ELECTRONICS: MARVEL's X-MEN: PROJECT X ELECTRONIC LCD VIDEO GAME

Play as Cyclops, and fire optic lasers to defeat the evil mutants Juggernaut and Apocalypse. Need help? Pick up the "X" mark and Wolverine will give you a hand. Go through 5 stages of play trying not to lose lives and jumping up to the sun to recharge. The design and technology were created with the original MARVEL handheld game unit in mind.
