Rumour Says Avengers: Infinity War Will Be Based On Infinity Gauntlet Run Rather Than Its Namesake

It wasn't long ago that Avengers: Infinity War felt eons away, a distant promise that was hard to wrap your head around. Well, we are now just over a year and a half away, and the movie is set to go into production in a matter of days.

With that, an interesting new rumour has just hit. According to LRM, they've gotten hold of information that suggests that the plot of the movie will actually not be focused on the comic run of the same name, but rather on the Infinity Gauntlet crossover event. Essentially, that the movie would begin with Thanos having a complete Infinity Gauntlet and try to kill a whole lot of the universe's life (roughly half) to impress Death. Oh, yeah, they heard she was a her too.

They also put in a line about fan rumours about Cate Blanchett's Hela being Death as well, but said their findings neither confirmed of deneyed it. They also say that on top of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Avengers, Nick Fury will be making his return too.

This lines up a lot with what a lot of people seem to have been talking about with this movie, so I'll bite. My guess is that Thanos will be a pretty big part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and that maybe he completes the gaunlet in that movie, but that is pure speculation. We will have to see on that front.
