Because U Demanded It: Sonic The Hedgehog Live Action Film On The Way From Paramount, Tim Miller
Paramount is making a live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movie, with Deadpool director Tim Miller producing. The news comes via a report from THR, which notes that few other details are known about the project at this time. Jeff Fowler will direct the film. Neal H. Moritz is also producing, and Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons. Yes, we know nobody cares about who's producing a movie, but we gotta fill space in this article somehow. Details are really sparse.
Sonic the Hedgehog is about a blue hedgehog who runs really fast. He is friends with other animals who also run fast, like Tails, a cat, and Knuckles, who we always assumed was also a hedgehog, but have just recently learned is actually something called an echidna, or spiny anteater. Do with that information what you will.
Sonic the Hedgehog is, inexplicably, a multimedia franchise, spawning cartoons and comic books, the latter formerly made by Archie Comics before Sega dumped them the day before Comic Con and moved the license to IDW. It waws super embarrassing. In the movie, Sonic will presumably face off against his longtime nemesis, Dr. Robotnik. No word on who will star in the movie yet, but they should probably get The Rock. Does anybody know if he's available?
We'll keep you updated when more details about this exciting new film become available.
UPDATE: We've been informed that Tails is actually a fox, and not a cat as we previously believed. This is blowing our @#$%ing mind.
