DC have taken away his years, taken away the politics, taken away his bisexuality and now they have come for his coat.
From a press jolly between DC and their "media partners" last month, embargoed until today, CBR reported a conversation with the new creators of the Constantine:The Hellblazer mini-relaunching in June to discover this distressing[...]
About how there were four books from the June mini-relaunch that I was really excited about, but seemed not to be lighting the fanbase on fire.
Prez, Doomed, Mystic U and Section 8.
So, since I was watching the InStore Comic Convention Kickoff, and Dan DiDio was on the screen, I tweeted out,
#conventionkickoff question for Dan… what[...]
For some people the Constantine comic just isn't the same without it being called Hellblazer.
Okay there are probably other things too But this may mark a start in getting closer to the feel of the original series, while still staying within the DC Universe.
Ming Doyle, artist on Vertigo's The Kitchen is joining Riley Rossmo of[...]
Over on DC Entertainment's website, they posted this video with the cast and crew of the NBC series Constantine talking about the Hellblazer comic book and going from the source material to live action.
I also wanted to remind folks that Constantine has not been cancelled, only stopped after the first 13 episodes so the network[...]
Just as the NBC TV series was placed on hiatus with no further episodes being produced after the initial order of 13, a low-budget fan film was released on the web that created a bit of a buzz.

John Constantine: Hellblazer – The Soul Play is a 12-minute short made by Waking Dream Studios in Manchester,[...]
On Friday the cast and crew of NBC's Constantine were told that the production will be stopped after the initial 13 episode order that it received. But
The particular episode, written by Cameron Walsh, is based off of Hellblazer #1 and is a really good character moment for Constantine.

In their To Hell and Back segments, the producers of Constantine go behind the scenes of the latest episode with interviews This week focuses on A Feast of Friends as we meet Gary[...]
So when Slate published an article about the state of the character on the eve of his new TV show, they got a comment, first from the last writer of Hellblazer and writer of Justice League Dark, Peter Milligan.
"When [New 52 Constantine] became the only incarnation of this character, he just becomes some British geezer[...]
The series stars Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior) as the titular anti-hero made popular in the DC / Vertigo comic series Hellblazer.
Like some of the other comic book based series to debut this season, Constantine had it's pilot leaked on-line Unlike Gotham and The Flash, Constantine went back after and did some reshoots after[...]
Having seen the pilot, am looking forward to the change as I just didn't think Liv fit into the Hellblazer universe… even the one NBC is creating.
Here we have a few picks of Celaya as Zed and a trailer for an episode called Trust where she seems to be introduced.

NBC has released a first look at the premiere of their new series Constantine based on the DC Entertainment comic Hellblazer Matt Ryan (Constantine) and executive producers David Goyer and Daniel Cerone break down who Constantine is and how he may not be likable, but some times he's exactly who you need.
Constantine will air October[...]
Just as they have already done with Flash and Green Arrow ahead of their upcoming TV shows, DC Comics is rush-soliciting a 64 page $1 Constantine #1: Special Edition.
The dollar comic will reprint the DC New 52 Constantine #1 as well as the original Hellblazer #1 as a flip book So people can decide, I guess,[...]
I liked Arkham Asylum, JLA: Earth 2, his work on Hellblazer and even his Happy! miniseries What I don't care for is this reputation he's been trying to build over the years as being the new and improved Alan Moore of DC Comics If I had to explain it objectively, I'd have to describe it[...]
The show is, of course, based on the DC / Vertigo comic book series Hellblazer.
The series has already made casting change since filming the pilot, writing out the recurring character of Liv Aberdine (Lucy Griffiths) which has called for some reshoots from the leaked episode some of us have seen already The series premieres October[...]
Are You Missing Hellblazer? Here Comes Thomas Alsop
by Dirk Manning
It's been several months since DC comics cancelled their long-running iconic horror comic series Hellblazer, and despite the comic's replacement with a much-more spandex-friendly title in Constantine, the fact of that matter is that numerous fans of the darker and more adult-themed stories the now-non-existent Hellblazer provided have been left with a hole[...]
The British illustrator who has worked on series like Hellblazer: Pandemonium, The Losers, Savage Wolverine will be joining other artists on the shelf like Alex Ross, Sean Phillips and Howard Chaykin.
Jock got his break in comics working on Judge Dredd for 2000AD with then editor Andy Diggle who he later co-created the Vertigo series The Losers[...]
She even disparaged the TV series that was based on her tale Field Of Blood, saying it was cheap looking, and then revealing she wanted to work again with Mutti on a Hellblazer piece set in the original continuity That's not going to happen with Constantine being hoiked over to the new 52 continuity, would[...]
Alistair Stuart writes;
Hellblazer Issue 300 arrived this week, and brought John's life to a…mostly…sort of…definitive ending It was an interesting, and brave, way to end a book that's crossed decades, been a nursery for a whole clutch of comic writers and been a mainstay of urban horror as well as a cornerstone of Vertigo[...]
In the week HMV go bust in the UK, Minutemen opens with an HMV vinyl of The Rise Of The Valkyries and continues it through…
See, this is what happened when we all heard Hellblazer was cancelled For Chas, read a couple of old drinking buddies Not happy campers, though this issue has a particularly old[...]
If I was in the same situation, I'd probably belt out a line like "Just checked my watch and the time is tooth-hurty!"
Hellblazer #298 by Simon Bisley
I didn't realize the truth campaign is targeting comics now! This has to be their most powerful ad yet! All kidding aside, I absolutely adore the texture of the[...]
But, beginning with Jamie Delano's run on Constantine's own (and Vertigo's first) running title, Hellblazer, the character of Constantine took off, growing exponentially in the capable hands of some of comics' best writers and artists.
Where once there was a fairly two dimensional magician, there was replaced a man trying to grow from his mistakes, struggling[...]
Okay, Hellblazer made it to issue 300 before it got its cancellation notice Interestingly, the original name of the comic wasn't going to be Hellblazer, but Hellraiser until Clive Barker and the studio people got in touch.
Well now Hellraiser is about to have its comic series, created with Clive Barker and Boom! Studios, put down[...]
I've seen many people reflecting on what a great run Hellblazer has had, upon hearing the news today that it will be ending and replaced by a New 52 title for the character I've long been a fan of the character and of many of the creators who have told his stories (something a few[...]
Dan Didio has written;
"We're supremely proud of Vertigo's HELLBLAZER, one of the most critically-acclaimed series we've published Issue #300 concludes this chapter of Constantine's epic, smoke-filled story in style and with the energy, talent and creativity fans have come to expect from Peter Milligan, Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Landini And no one should worry that[...]
It's the end of the world as we know it.
DC are cancelling Hellblazer, the Vertigo mature reader title that has been running since the eighties when it spun off from Swamp Thing And replacing it with Constantine, starring the lead character John Constantine, created by Alan Moore, Rick Veitch and John Totleben, a new series[...]
So why not engage that more and play off it?
I feel the natural state of Hellblazer is questions rather than answers (mainly because of the Delano years) and perhaps it's tough for me to break out of that mode of reading, even after all this time But a less introspective John provides more movement on[...]
No one redefined the comic book landscape quite like Alan Moore in the 1980s, and the year 1985 was one of the most creative of his career. He'd taken Saga of the Swamp Thing to new levels of horror and brilliance. He'd introduced the world to John Constantine, a magic con man and later, Hellblazer. [...]
