Kenny Omega Joins AEW, is Immediately Attacked by Chris Jericho
It's been a big night in Las Vegas so far at All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing rally. We've seen Sonny Kiss announce his intentions, Cody Rhodes announce a partnership with AAA, and Hangman Page and Pac booked as the first official match at Double or Nothing in May. Then the Young Bucks introduced the Best Friends, before being attacked by the Lucha Brothers. Brandi Rhodes announced the signings of Kylie Rae and Nyla Rose as well as appearances of Aja Kong and Yuka Sakazaki at the event in May, and SoCal Uncensored challenged Cima to find two partners from OWE to face them as well.
But that was all leading up to the main event, as a video showed the cellphone countdown of one Kenny Omega, who took the stage poolside in Las Vegas.
Omega said he just signed the deal this morning, noting that he had to do things legally, but he is now a full-time member of the AEW roster. Omega said that the journey of The Elite had to come to an end in Japan, but he thanked the fans and the Khans for giving himself and his friends a platform to change the world. Before he could continue, he was interrupted by Chris Jericho, dressed amazingly and walking out to his own band's music.
They faced off for just a moment before breaking out into a brawl that was broken up by security, who dragged Jericho away as he shouted at Kenny, saying, "let's see you change the universe you son of a bitch!"
After that, Omega, wearing Jericho's hat as a trophy, messed up his catchphrase and needed the crowd to help him say it. It's not gonna get any better than this, so the show ended here.
Double or Nothing will take place on May 25th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 12th, but if you head to AllEliteWrestling.com now, you can sign up to receive a pre-sale code by email on February 11th.
