Channel 4 announced this week that it has renewed the popular comedy panel game show Taskmaster for six more series. Still maintaining an immense popularity in the UK and gaining more fans daily after making the show available in multiple countries through YouTube, the show will continue with Greg Davies and Alex Horne hosting two series a year (or seasons for those of us living elsewhere). The news came as the show is preparing for Series 21, set to premiere on April 9, featuring Amy Gledhill, Armando Iannucci, Joanna Page, Joel Dommett, and Kumail Nanjiani, as the five contestants vying for a trophy that looks like they stuck Davies' head on a pike. Taskmaster Set To Return For Another Three Years

All series of Taskmaster will continue to be available to stream for free on Channel 4, and fans will now also be able to stream the successful New Zealand, Australian, and Canadian versions of the show on Channel 4 and Channel 4's YouTube channel (UK), which are among the 13 international versions of the format that air across the world. The deal also includes full episodes on Channel 4's YouTube channel for a UK audience. Series 19, which aired in 2025, also saw the show's strongest-ever share on the channel, with 0-7-day consolidated share more than four times the slot average among hard-to-reach 16-34s. Taskmaster clips on Channel 4 run social platforms YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat, reaching 165 million global views in 2025.

Globally, Taskmaster's views on its official YouTube channel hit 1.4 billion, reflecting significant growth in popularity in 2025, with annual views up 69% to 426 million and new subscribers up 69%. There has also been a continued year-on-year increase in North American viewership, with views up 70% to 243 million, while new subscribers from North America were up 82%. The channel has now reached over 1.4 billion lifetime views across 100 million unique viewers since launching in 2019.

"I am delighted the comedian meat grinder remains open for business. I look forward to gleefully keeping it fed with the help of a small, introverted man that I own," said The Taskmaster, Greg Davies. "I'm pleased and quite stressed that I've got to come up with a lot more tasks for a lot more comedians," said Taskmaster creator and host Alex Horne. "But the thought of three more years in Greg's deep embrace is soothing my little head".
