'You' Season 2: Netflix Casts 'The Haunting of Hill House' Star Victoria Pedretti
Now that breakaway psychological thriller You is moving to the streaming service full time with its second season, Netflix isn't straying too far from home in casting a new lead. Fresh off her turn as "Nell" Crain Vance in The Haunting of Hill House, Victoria Pedretti is set to star opposite a returning Penn Badgley in the hit series' sophomore season.
Pedretti's (Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, Apple's Amazing Stories) will play Love Quinn, an aspiring chef working as a produce manager in a high-end grocery store. Love is uninterested in the world of social media, branding and self-promotion, focused instead on leading an interesting life. She is also tending to a deep grief – and when she meets Joe Goldberg (Badgley), she senses a shared knowledge of profound, life-changing loss.
Here's a look at the first season trailer for You, along with an official overview of the series:
YOU, a Netflix Original Series, is the riveting and hypnotic story of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), an obsessive yet brilliant New Yorker, who exploits today's technology to win the heart of Beck (Elizabeth Lail) amid the growing suspicions of her best friend Peach (Shay Mitchell). Joe transforms himself from stalker to boyfriend while doing whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles standing in his way — even if it means murder. Set in today's 24/7 hyper-connected world, YOU explores how vulnerable we all are to stalking and manipulation online and in real life.
Based on the novel by Caroline Kepnes and developed to series by Sera Gamble & Greg Berlanti, You premiered as a Lifetime series – with Netflix serving as SVOD/international partner. Beginning with the upcoming second season, You will now be a Netflix original. Berlanti Productions, Man Sewing Dinosaur, and Alloy Entertainment produce, in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. Berlanti, Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, and Marcos Siega serve as executive producers.
