Comic Con To Stay In San Diego Till At Least 2018
Just announced in San Diego by the mayor Kevin Faulconer… San Diego Comic Con will stay in San Diego for another three years until at least 2018.
"More Superman means more safer streets. More light sabres means more libraries…."
And councilman Todd Gloria broke it down… "130,000 attendees, 60,000 room nights, $2.8 million dollars in tax revenue…"
With Comic-Con's David Glanzer admitting that it was "touch and go for a while." And he celebrated what he called "Comic-Con campus", as the show expands into the rest of San Diego, which he described as "America's finest city."
In questions and answers, David stated that hotels were an issue, space was an issue, but that in the end they negotiated and never stopped talking and is happy with what they acheived.
While the mayor announced that they will expand their convention center, and that Comic-Con would grow along with it.
