The DC Rebirth Previews lay out the threats facing the Green Lanterns in their new title, Green Lanterns…

THREAT ASSESSMENT #1: EACH OTHER

(Low) Simon Baz barely trusts his ring, so what makes you think he trusts new Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz, who once found herself controlled by an evil ring that preyed on the weak and fearful?

THREAT ASSESSMENT #2: PUBLIC OPINION

(Growing) Although both Jessica and Simon also appeared in Justice League, they aren't seen as the fearless ring-stinger Hal Jordan was. "They're strapped with the most powerful weapon in the universe and charged with protecting one of the most treacherous sectors in all the cosmos—including Earth," admits Humphries. "But they don't have the rep Hal does…yet."

THREAT ASSESSMENT #3: BLEEZ

(Heating Up) Look for the Red Lantern to go on a rager during Baz and Cruz's initial patrols, as she plans to use Earth as her slaughterhouse. "Bleez realizes Earth is crucial to the survival of the Red Lanterns," teases Humphries. "Unfortunately, the humans who live on Earth are expendable."

THREAT ASSESSMENT #4: ROGUE GUARDIAN

(Sweating Bullets) Before they even meet the Guardians of the Universe, Jessica and Baz will come face-to-face with a rogue Guardian, who hides a secret that could destroy the universe. "The Guardians created the most powerful weapon in the DC Universe—the Green Lantern ring," says Humphries. "But a rogue Guardian also created something more powerful and more unpredictable."

THREAT ASSESSMENT #5: THE RED DAWN

(In Need of BackUp) "Green Lantern is one of the most storied legacies in comics," gushes Humphries. "We're exploring that mythology with these two new Green Lanterns. We've had Emerald Dawn, we've had Blackest Night, we've had Brightest Day and now we have Red Dawn. '

For starters, the Green Lantern Corps has dis-appeared, and now Sinestro's own Corps enforces his uniquely brutal brand of law and order in the universe. As a result, Jordan has no ring to sling, or Sector 2814 (aka Earth) to protect.
