One Of The More Disturbing PR Stunts For The Walking Dead

91Jqk0EnpqL._SL1500_PR companies have all sorts of tricks to get tame journalists to write puff pieces for their products. We've been willing victims of that a number of times.

But this one might be a first.

To promote the release of the sixth season of The Walking Dead on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK, distributor Entertainment One has done a deal with London butcher Turner& George.

Do you like where this is going?

You've seen all the gruesome hacking and violent killings and now it's time for you to experience this yourself… in a safe and controlled environment – where every being is very much alive, bar one animal…

In two weeks time, members of the press are invited to spend the evening breaking and hacking down a side of pork with the butcher, de-boning, rolling and tying pork cuts into pork sirloin roasting joints.

They used to call human meat "long pork" or course. I think that's what they're going for here.

And coverage of the event will be released around the end of September, with the release of the Walking Dead volume, with the following credits.
