FBI Say SNIKT! To Wolverine Pirate

grand-juryIt was the big pirate scoop of the year. An early release of Wolverine, which the studios swore was different to the final release, but turned out to be exactly the same but with more end-of-credits scenes. Nevertheless the fuss probably proved a boost to its box office takings, despite pretty poor reviews all round.

Well, last night the FBI announced they'd arrested one 47-year-old Gilberto Sanchez from Bronx, New York,. for originally uploading the file to Megaupload.com last March.

How he got it, we don't know. But he faces up to three years' jail and a $250,000 fine, or twice the gross gain or gross loss attributable to the offence, whichever is greater. Which any decent lawyer should be able to argue up. Though the feel who 'fessed over uploading an early cut of Ang Lee's Hulk got away with six month's house arrest and a $7000 fine.
