Si Spurrier's Disenchanted – A Free Multimedia Comic Experience In Print And Online From Avatar
Bleeding Cool is about to tell you about the missing October solicitations, for both DC Comics and more, after asking the questions yesterday.
It's all part of the Hallowe'en Comic Fest promotion from Diamond Comic Distribution, expanding the October version of Free Comic Book Day by encouraging prominent publishers to debut new comics for free.
We start with full details on Bleeding Cool owners Avatar Press' offering and how it's much more than a free comic.
Disenchanted by Si Spurrier and German Erramouspe has been years in the making. Over three hundred pages have already been fully written, drawn, coloured and lettered, and will begin to be serialised online by Avatar Press on the Disenchanted website for free, twelve pages every Monday, from the beginning of October, then sold in collected editions. The first two collections of which are already complete.
And there will be a free print version available in October, collecting work that's run on the website so far.
And the website will provide an immersive experience, expanding what it means to be a comic book without, as Avatar EIC William Christensen puts it "no not talking silly motion comics things."
Find out more about the comic here. The solicitation for October's free comic is below.

Welcome to Vermintown! Disenchanted is a stunning new webcomic from writer Simon Spurrier that will be collected twice per year, following the model of Freakangels. This is the perfect chance to get in on the ground floor and be prepared to be swept into an immersive World of forgotten secrets anchored by a spectacular web site at www.disenchantedcomic.com!
Nobody gives a crap about the little people any more.
Once they were the mainstay of folklore: goblins, leprechauns, pixies and fey. But now? Dispossessed, forgotten, doubting even their own traditions, they've trickled into Vermintown: a vast and vile city of a million inch-tall malcontents. Sprawling through an abandoned subway station deep beneath London, here myth has given way to sleaze, drugs, gangland violence and interracial hatred. Vermintown is where magic went to die.
Written by Simon Spurrier (X-Men Legacy, Crossed: Wish You Were Here), with art by German Erramouspe (Night of the Living Dead), Disenchanted is an urban thriller slipping a rusty blade between the shoulders of the familiar fairytale. What do you do when nobody believes in you?
