Everyone Wants New 52 Characters To Lose Their Limbs Right Now
At Boston Comic Con this weekend, Scott Snyder took to the DC Comics panel to talk about his plans for Batman. We referred to a few of them yesterday.
But he also revealed the original plan for Death Of The Family was, in the second chapter, for the Joker to take Alfred's hand off and to have it sent to Bruce. Wiser heads prevailed and it was decided it was just too gruesome.
Equally, we now understand that Andy Diggle's original plan for Superman was for him to lose his arm as part of an ongoing storyline that would see Superman eventually with outside assistance, able to regrow the missing appendage. It never happened.
Cyborg lost several bits of his before he was reassembled in robot form.
We've just had had Arsenal return to Red Hood And The Outlaws looking possibly limb-replaced again…
In the Pre 52, Aquaman was a bugger for losing a hand and then getting it replaced in a variety fashions, only to lose it again. But it does seem like there's something in the air right now regarding limb loss. Though next week's Saga may have got in first…
Wouldn't like to be Aquaman right about now.
