Secrets Of The Battleworld – Where Did The 616/Ultimate Survivors Go? #Stulky (SPOILERS)
Secret Wars #5 is published today, beginning with the funeral service of Sheriff Strange. See, we know that Strange scattered the 616/Ultimate survivors of the end of the multiverse to the corners of the Battleworld to protect them from God Doom, only to be killed by Doom as a result. But no one else knows that, which enables Doom to pin the blame on the survivors and get his followers to hunt them down.
But just having a memorial statue of you in the Secret Wars grounds, doesn't necessarily mean your'e dead, as readers will discover…
But where are the survivors?
Well, we know that Star-Lord made it to the Manhattan domain with an alternate version of his fiancée Kitty Pryde, in Star-Lord & Kitty Pryde, while over in Ultimate End, in another Manhattan populated by the surviving Ultimate universe and a copy of the 616, in conflict. I suggested that Yotat The Destroyer could be Ultimate Mr Fantastic in disguise… though it seems he will be appearing in the post-Secret Wars Guardians Of The Galaxy series, so who knows.
But the conclusion of this month's Secret Wars #5 lets us know that Jane Foster Thor is in Doomgard with a bunch of other Thors, Namor is in Egyptia, Captain Marvel is in Bar Sinister, Black Swan is in Doomstadt, hovering over yet another version of Manhattan, and Thanos is at the Shield.
Will they turn up in associated spinoff books now? That's yet to be determined but it may explain some of the Secret Wars spinoff delays.
So what of the rest of the Battleworld?
Well, there is actually another survivor from the 616, Deadpool, operating as a ghost that only one person can see, in Mrs Deadpool & The Howling Commandos.
Oh and yeah, teleportation, that never goes down well on the Battleworld.
Especially not in Doomstadt, in Ghost Racers, on Doom's doorstep!
And with other portals leaving and returning to Arcadia in A-Force, there is something for all to worry about.
Korvac Saga continues to treat the truth as illness as Captain Marv-Vell gets infected with the heresies of what came before.
Inhumans: Attilan Rising runs down the world's current conflicts…
Both Years Of Future Past and Master Of Kung Fu eschew the rest of the Battleworld, but both have parental issues, with the latter channelling a little Star Wars right now.
Secret Wars 2099 doesn't either, but I can't help but take this couple of panels as addressing Axel Alonso, can you?
Oh and if Namor wants a wander round, Egyptia, in Secret Wars Battleworld, is now looking like this.
If Steve Rogers and Bucky are indeed a couple in Planet Hulk, then, well, we're probably not going to have the happy reunion that the #Stucky fans have been hoping for…
Unless they'll settle for #Stulky?
Steve and a Hulked-out-Bucky-Barnes?
The hashtag starts here.
