Marguerite Sauvage Hasn't Had Time To Watch Batman V Superman Yet…

Ashleigh Jay writes for Bleeding Cool from Denver Comic Con. She talked to Marguerite Sauvage .

I asked Marguerite Sauvage about her upcoming projects. She told me that she'd just finished 8 pages of an anthology that is coming out in a month called Choosing Sides. She is also working on another DC's Bombshell story. Marguerite is continuing to work on Faith, for Valiant Comics. Valiant and Marvel are also having her work on different upcoming projects. Another thing that she has coming up is an exhibition in Paris that she says will be "a breath of fresh air." (She is from France and since she was afraid that I could not understand some of what she was telling me due to her French accent, she would write certain words down that were her responses to my questions.)

As to what it was it like working on Faith? "Great!" Marguerite says she loves the story and working with the writer, Jody Houser. She says Faith is really positive character and a geekette with a huge imagination. Marguerite says that drawing what is in Faith's head can be crazy and fun. Marguerite is very happy with the story's body diversity message.

Marguerite Sauvage was discovered two years ago. She had posted some fan art on Twitter that became noticed by Vertigo. She was asked to work on a project called Hinterkind. After that, she was asked to do other works for companies such as  DC and Marvel, like the ten page Wonder Woman Sensation Comics and the cover for Ms. Marvel. Before she was discovered, she worked as an illustrator.

So what does she think of Wonder Woman's recent appearance in Batman v. Superman?

"I haven't seen 'Batman v. Superman' yet." Being an artist, Marguerite hasn't had the time to watch the movie. She says that she has high hopes for the Wonder Woman movie, though because she loves the character. She mentioned that she doesn't want to be disappointed, so she was trying to lower her expectations. Marguerite also didn't want to read any reviews before seeing the movie because she wants to be spoiler free and for the movie to surprise her.

When asked hos she would describe her art style, Marguerite Sauvage thought for a minute. She told me that it was a very interesting question because most people describe her style as very feminine. Light, refreshing, elegant, and a little cartoony are the words she used to explain her art style. She mentions that she thinks that you can see her background as an illustrator in her comic art.

Marguerite Sauvage has a wonderful style and seems like an amazing person to work with.
