How Nathan Fillion And Alan Tudyk's Spectrum Characters Met…
Today sees the release of Spectrum #1, the comic book based on the fictitious show-within-a-show of Alan Tudyk's web-series Con Man,
Heavily based on Tudyk's experiences on con culture after being on Firefly, the show was a smash success with its first series and its second series has been picked up by Comic-Con HQ for the summer.
But before then, we get a comic book version of the Firefly-like show that Alan Tudyk's character Wray Nerely starred in, alongside Nathan Fillion's Jack Moore.
It's written by PJ Haarsma, Alan Tudyk, drawn by Jason Johnson and Sarah Stone and edited by Shannon Eric Denton. And today's first issue is a telling of how Alan and Nathan's characters' characters Cash Wayne and James Raaker met.
During an alien invasion.
Yup, Raaker shot at Cash… …and brought him out if the sky.
That is how best buddies are made of course.
There are other references as well of course to the web series. We've seen how careless Wray Nerely can be with a coffee cup. Well, Cash has those issues too.
And any excuse to make Nathan Fillion's character as ridiculous as possible is always welcome.
Spectrum. It's back! Issue 1 is published today from Automatic Press.
