Is Marvel Legacy #1 The Beginning Of A New Infinity War For Wolverine And Guardians Of The Galaxy #150?

Marvel Legacy #1 by Jason Aaron, with art by Esad Ribic, Steve McNiven, Matthew Wilson, Chris Samnee, Russell Dauterman, Alex Maleev, Ed McGuinness, Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, Pepe Larraz, Jim Cheung, Daniel Acuna, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, Mike Deodato Jr, David Marquez and lettered by VC's Cory Petit, is published by Marvel Comics today – or last night, depending if your store did a midnight opening or not.

Next year sees Avengers: The Infinity War hit the big screens. Marvel Comics have always run something comic-wise to play off any such movie, even if they are not involved. X-Men got a reprise of Days Of Future Past, Doctor Strange got two ongoing series, Captain America got a Civil War II… so you know, even though they don't talk much anymore, that Marvel Comics are planning for something alongside the Infinity War film.

And Marvel Legacy #1 looks like where it will begin. With Wolverine out of the adamantium casing and on the hunt for something… special.

And he finds it.

And the big glowy thing defined by an observer from far away, Gamora, as on of the Infinity Gems… I mean Infinity Stones. I keep forgetting that one.

Guardians Of The Galaxy #150 has been heavily classified for launch in January, just as Avengers #675 was. Could it be that it will kick off Marvel Comics own return to the Infinity Gauntlet or Infinity War storylines? And the name of the event will be announced at New York Comic Con?

And what role will Wolverine play, trying to gather them up? And will Loki's own plans get in the way again? Or even unwittingly give them a helping hand, such as in Marvel Legacy #1?

I'm sure they'll tell us soon
