What Catwoman Knew About Superman – and What Lois Knew About Catwoman (Batman #36 Spoilers) #SuperBat
If you liked Batman Annual #2 – the history of Batman and Catwoman from Day Two until the Last Day – and who didn't love that Bingo Love vibe layered over the Batbooks – then you really, really should be picking up Batman #36 by Tom King, Clay Mann, Seth Mann, Jordie Bellaire and Clayton Cowles. It might as well be a sequel.
Because while the Annual told the story of the love between Bruce and Selina, Batman #36 tells the story of the love between Bruce and Clark. The #SuperBat ship, made flesh on the comic book page. And why neither is calling the other, how they feel about each other as expressed to the supposed loves of their lives, Selina Kyle and Lois Lane, and each of the women, clearly and openly aware that they have a somewhat rival for affections that Bruce and Clark are unwilling to state. And a judgement of each other that tells us more about how Batman and Superman see themselves, all the time they are talking about the other. And giving us a superheroic version of this classic sketch in the process, from The Frost Report starring John Cleese, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett.

Damn you're going to enjoy this. You know you could stop reading now and avoid the light spoilers within. Your call.
But we also get an acknowledgement that the Clark Kent and Superman secret identity is at risk. Has been and will be. Because this is Catwoman we're talking about.
And yes, Lois Lane is bang on the money.
If Catwoman knows… who else will know? She's smart, she found her way into the Batcave in Batman Annual #2… but might there be others.
Hilarious, recognising male/female stereotypical behaviour, leaving so much unsaid and riding the wave – but note, Lois doesn't say "Selina"… she only knows so much. Has the catburglar outsmarted the journalist?
Oh and Batfans? Today's Justice League #34 is pretty damn fine too for the future of Batman. Just saying.
