DC Comics Cancels Absolute Gotham By Gaslight
DC Comics solicited a reprint of their very first Elseworlds book, Batman: Gotham By Gaslight by Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola, which spawned so many alternative takes on the DC Comics icons, in their Absolute format. Oversized, hardcover, slipcased, a format originally pioneered by Scott Dunbier at DC/Wildstorm for Absolute Authority, and then got copied by everyone else. Well, it is not to be. DC Comics has now informed retailers that they have cancelled Absolute Gotham By Gaslight, which would have also contained the sequel and other appearances of the Victorian Batman, and that the contents will be solicited again in a different format.
