Hi BC,

Kristo is the Count of Monte Cristo, set in Stalinist Russia.  I wrote it, Alex Sheikman is the artist, with Kris Carter on colours and edits from Yannick Morin. Pat Mills, creator of 2000AD, describes it as "masterful", and David Lloyd calls us "bright new talent".

We'd love it if you could promote this to your readers, and as such, we're offering a special goal.

If Bleeding Cool readers pledge £300 before the Kickstarter ends in 7 days' time, we'll release 'A Fair Fight', the 5-page test story Alex and I worked on as a warm-up to Kristo. We'll make it as a downloadable PDF for everyone who has pledged to Kristo so far.

Thanks for your support. Please don't worry if you hear any nonsense from the Russian secret service. It's nothing to worry about. Really.

For the Attention of the editor of Bleeding Cool.

It has come to our attention that you are planning to promote a graphic novel Kickstarter project called Kristo. This is alleged to be the confession of Isaak Solzhenitsyn, father of the dissident Nobel Laureate, and also a retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo, set in Stalinist Russia.

You are hereby ordered to cease and desist. Should the Kickstarter project come to the attention of the readers of your entertainment website, it may receive enough support to complete. We cannot allow this to happen.

You may be contacted by former F.S.B. Agents Samuil Roads and Aleksandr Sheikman regarding this matter. Roads has been given two international Origins awards for game writing, and Sheikman has previously worked on projects 'The Dark Crystal', 'Robotika' and 'Mouseguard'.

It is our understanding that they will create a goal this weekend, such that if Bleeding Cool readers pledge a total of £300 to Kristo, they will release the case files on a different project, a 5 page, light-hearted story of domestic barbarians, called A Fair Fight.

Do not accept this offer! Former Agents Roads and Sheikman are no longer authorised by this agency, and may be dangerous.
