Aspen Refuses Reprints Of Damaged Metal #1 Variants To Make Them More Collectible
Bleeding Cool told you previously how DC Comics were reprinting retailer exclusive cover runs on Dark Nights: Metal #1 after some serious printing issues. However, the Aspen store, which commissioned an exclusive cover, has told DC Comics that they have chosen not to have the comics reprinted, even though they say "a large portion of the DC Dark Nights METAL #1 Aspen variant covers were shipped to us with damages, rendering them unsalvageable and unsellable."
Which means they are suddenly a lot more collectible.
They have stated the official print runs for each variant cover, after damages, are now as follows:
- Cover A (Wonder Woman) strict print run of 1,500.
- Cover B (Batman) strict print run of 1,000.
- Cover C (Superman) strict print run of 750.
And that's it. Say, anyone else fancy destroying print runs so that the remaining issues are more valuable? If so, consider recycling over burning — which is what Boom did once…
