Will Bakers Run Out Of Black Icing For DC Dark Nights: Metal #1 Cakes?

Both DC Comics and Marvel Comics have made certain artwork available legally to top cakes at any of the Marvel Legacy or Dark Nights: Metal "parties" used to promote their first issue launches.

Here's how they could look. Firstly, the DC Comics artwork for Metal… and the legal paperwork courtesy of Adam Phillips to let bakers print it in the icing. The black, black icing.

Hear that, bakers? No doing a Mat Nastos and saying that you have been officially commissioned by DC Comics to bake their Batman cakes. That's just not how it works. Just put an image on your website and let customers make that assumption without any help from yourself!

The cake artwork for the Marvel Legacy release parties hasn't been released yet…but it's on the black side, too. Could there be a national shortage of black icing if these launch parties take off? But the big question is…which looks tastier to you? Let us know which you'd rather be sinking your teeth into.
