Cerebus Addresses the Twitter Butt-Pirates – and John Layman

Last week Bleeding Cool looked at the Diamond Previews solicitation for the latest Cerebus In Hell one-shot of cut-and-pasted Dante's Inferno illustrations with Cerebus figures placed amongst them and Dave Sim scripts. I say looked, we kind of stared down the barrel of the abyss and turned away sobbing.

But the official solicitation from Aardvark-Vanaheim details everything Diamond decided not to include in the listing. And they even quote Chew co-creator John Layman, who has been one of Dave Sim and Cerebus' biggest fans ever – and presumably why he is singled out for comment.

Get ready this July for the latest CEREBUS IN HELL? one-shot: FORNICATORS inc. No.1! With a cover based on FANTASTIC FOUR #1, this is the issue which caused New York Times best-selling, Harvey Award and multi-Eisner Award winning comic book creator John Layman to break his vow of positivity!: "I try to keep comics-positive on Twitter, but these Cerebus in Hell books look abysmally pointless and unfunny and awful. Does anybody actually read them? Is there any story there? Or just Dave Sim using clip art and jabbering weird unfunny Dave Sim-isms?"
