Christian Ward, Jeff Dekal, Rod Reis, Greg Smallwood, and Raúl Allén Cover X-O Manowar #1 in March

Good news struck for fans of the deadly jellyfish superhero known as X-O Manowar earlier this week when Valiant revealed that the new series by Dennis Hopeless "Hallum" and Emilio Laiso, originally intended to launch in November but delayed, will finally hit stores in March. But important questions were left unanswered, such as how many variant covers will the book have and who will draw them? Well, those questions are unanswered no more, as Valiant has now revealed the first issue's main cover by Christian Ward, as well as variants by Jeff Dekal, Rod Reis, Greg Smallwood, and Raúl Allén, and a blank variant for good measure. Dekal's cover has been used for the promo art since the series was announced. The only confusing thing is that all the covers clearly feature a man and not a jellyfish. Not sure what's going on there.

We always say that the importance of a comic can be directly measured in the number of variants it has, so X-O Manowar #1 is off to a good start, and who knows, maybe they'll announce more in the future! Check out the variants below. X-O Manowar #1 hits stores on March 25th, with colors by Ruth Redmond and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
