Adam Hughes Art Flipper Is Back – And He's Armed!

Adam Hughes Art Flipper Is Back – And He's Armed!Recently, Bleeding Cool ran a piece on an comic con attendee who begged and pleaded for an original art sketch from Adam Hughes and received a gorgeous piece Wonder Woman for a few hundred dollars.

And less that twenty-four hours later, it was on eBay for four figures.

This was the straw that broke Adam Hiughes' back and he decided to stop doing commissioned sketches at conventions all together.

But what of the eBay flipper? Well, the piece was withdrawn from sale on eBaay.

After telling people his lost his job and his wife lost her job, he then contacted Adam Hughes' partner Alison Sohn to explain that his car had broken down, and he needed the money to pay for repairs, but had second thoughts, decided to borrow money from family members instead and keep the piece, which is why he withdrew it from sale…. well its back up on eBay, currently at $681.
And after shutting down the original listing because he "changed his mind" and got money elsewhere – he then contacted bidders on the piece directly, offering it for sale at $2700.
Well, after all that bad publicity, it seems no buyer seemed to want to pay that much for something so infamous, even without eBay fees.
Intriguingly, he appears work in a certain New York Police department – and still work there. We'd give his name, but given the strong feelings regarding Adam's decision to stop sketching commissions at conventions, that's probably not a good idea. But we are watching…
