Creating Comic Covers At Long Beach Comic Con
Dave Nieves writes,
Long Beach is my home town and for the last four years I've worked with Long Beach Comic Con from being a show grunt to putting together the most entertaining programming like last year's fantastic Batman 66' panel with Ralph Garman, Mike Allred and John Bogdanove.
This year the show is the biggest it's ever been.
Celebrities, novelists, voice actors, game designers, animators, and of course some of the best names in comics are taking part in hours of entertaining programing. Bleeding Cool's allowed me to come on so I can invite everyone in attendance to something celebrating the best part of the show, comics. On Saturday at 1:30p come to room 101A for #Makecomics: Creating Dynamic Covers. I'll be joined by an illustrious dais made up of Descender co-creator Dustin Nguyen, upcoming Captain Marvel artist Kris Anka, the uncanny Stuart Immonen, and the renowned Adam Kubert.
Will word balloons ever be put back on the cover? What are some of the worst gimmicks comics have tried? How does the business of covers work? Part shop-talk, part dish on the industry, all entertaining; this panel isn't just for aspiring artists but fans of every level. However, if you are an art enthusiast my friends over at RLB Artbox Studio may just have a present for you.
So come on down to 101A on Saturday for The Covers. Food is allowed and encouraged.
