Marvel Dominates Everyone with Captain America The End, Darth Vader, X4, and More… – The Back Order List 2/5/2020
Every week your Local Comic Book shop gets in the weekly assortment of comics, trades, posters, action figures, and other goodies from Diamond. Now some of these goodies sell our fast from your LCBS, so Tuesday and Wednesday LCBS retailers get on the phone (more often the computer) and let Diamond know they need more. Or sometimes they go to unpack those Diamond boxes and find items missing, or too damaged to sell (it does happen), retailers have to let Diamond know. However, the phrase no retailer likes to hear when they go to report those shortages, damages, or reorders is: "Sorry that item is on back order", which means there are no more copies to send out from the Diamond warehouse.
February is usually a very solid retail month in terms of releases as it only ever at most has four weeks, so every week the publishers put out a good number of books. This first week for the Back Order list had something rare as only one publisher was on it: Marvel.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3
did not follow the trend set by issues #1 and #2 and did not make the Back Order list this time… leaving only Marvel on the list this week.
Some of these books have already had second prints announced, but expect the other books on the Back Order list to also go to second print soon as well:
Captain America The End #1 follows Captain Marvel The End #1 from last week with both covers going on the Back Order list.
Immortal Hulk: Greater Power #1, the first in a series of Immortal Hulk spin-offs, also goes on the Back Order list with its main cover and has a second print coming.
The completely unrelated variant cover though still had copies in stock on Thursday.
Star Wars again also gets on the list with the Darth Vader #1 main cover,
though The Empire Strikes Back Variant still had copies in stock on Thursday…
X-Men Fantastic Four #1 main cover also disappears on to the Back Order list,
but the very nice Mark Brooks variant cover still was in stock for those still looking.
And also in addition to the Back Order list, this week we add the Overship list as Marvel usually sends out additional promotional copies in addition to the normally ordered copies LCBS get. This week Robert E. Howard created characters took this list as Conan Battle for the Serpent Crown #1 and
Dark Agnes #1 main covers
both get additional copies sent out to retailers in addition to their already ordered copies of these books. Both should be in stock and easy to find for those out looking.
So if you are at your LCBS and see any of these "back order titles" grab them if you want them, because Diamond "likely" won't be sending anymore 1st prints no matter how much your local retailer asks.
