Coming out of the Diamond Comics Retailer Lunch, which Marvel Comics is still invited to, even though there's no sign if DC Comics, IDW, Image or Dark Horse, comes news of a new retro-comic book series from Marvel in November. Daredevil: Black Armor by Dan Chichester – or D.G. Chichester as he is now, and Netho Diaz with a cover by Mark Bagley.

Dan Chichester was an editor at Marvel in the eighties when began writing comics for Marvel and had a long run on Daredevil from 1991 to 1995, during some of the greater excesses of the comic book industry, where he scripted the "Fall of the Kingpin" and "Fall From Grace" which also included Daredevil getting the black armour, which is making its return for this series.

In early 1995, while in the midst of developing upcoming story lines for Daredevil, he learned he was to be replaced by group editor Bobbie Chase as the title's writer. For the five issues of the comic he was obligated to write, he took his name off the credits, instead demanding an "Alan Smithee" credit. However later he was approached to write the 1997 Daredevil/Batman crossover, "An Eye for an Eye", and did so. He is now returning to a run for which he is remembered most fondly, and one that survived much of the nineties pressures but on comic books to become Rob Liefeld clones. The new series will be "dances through the raindrops of their original storyline."
