Missed Deadline to Rewrite the History Books of Comics

Over the weekend teaser images appeared on social media showing the first in a series of character treatments for the comic series which will be making its debut in the long-anticipated magazine Missed Deadline.

We've been covering this slow emergence of a return for the eponymous comic book/music magazine created by the late Steve Dillon and the late Brett Ewins, that spawned Tank Girl – as we are now in the magazine's thirtieth anniversary year.

Full details on this one series are scarce as the series is still in development, but we can confirm that it will take the form of a series of standalone heavily fictionalised versions of incidents and events occurring over the last twenty-seven years in and around the comics industry.

The lead artist on the project has been confirmed as J S Kemp working under her pseudonym, McSchmesh.

It is currently anticipated that other artists involved directly with and outside of the Missed Deadline project will also work on the on the as yet unnamed series, currently scheduled to have between 10-15 standalone stories and an overall story arc, still as yet to be confirmed. As yet the only definitive information we have is that the opening chapter will be a visual riff on David Bowie's Hunky Dory…

…and that the main narrative will be interspersed with side stories featuring female muses, previously best known for their associations with more famous men throughout history.

Kemp's only comment being "It's time to re-write the history books and redress the balance."

More to come with the return of Deadline as Missed Deadline as and when it does.

Now… who wants a logo?
