Orbital Comics to Run a "Super Gay" Life Drawing Class, for Superhero World Where Homosexuality Was Never Criminalised

In October, Orbital Comics of London will be running an exhibition of pop artist Villain, with a unique exhibition of LGBTQIA art produced through a silver-age comic book lens. Entitled Super Fu*@!ng Gay, it is intended to be is a celebration of the gay code-language of Polari, developed over the road in Soho, and playfully subverting pop art and the comic book genre, asking us to imagine a past where homosexuality was never criminalised. Including a team of fictional LGBTQ superheroes, including Captain Pride, Lady Violet and Flamingo.

And while the exhibition runs from the 9th of October to the 24th, on Friday 18th of October, Villain will be running a special life drawing class.

The Super Fu*@!ng Gay Life Drawing Glass will see life drawing opportunities, with the Art Model Collective, costumes and props – and Villain to suggest ideas, tips and guidelines. Starting at 7pm, tickets are available now, first come, first served…
