Gosh Comics Through November…
Gosh Comics is one of my favourite comic shops in the worls. Now located in the heart of bustling Soho, London, surrounded by a great street market, record stores, strip joints, brothels, burleque performances and delicatessans, it's also part of Knockabout Comics, the British publishers of the likes of Alan Moore, Eddie Campbell and Hunt Emerson. But if you you need an extra special reason to go, here are a few.
Tonight at 7.30pm they are hosting a talk with Oliver Jeffers for Neither Here Nor There.
On Friday the 12th, they are launching the book and the exhibition of famed cartoonist Steven Appleby's Guide To Life.
With the Phoenix comic, they have a Phoenix Presents: Kids Activity Table with Gary Northfield, Lorenzo Etherington and Neill Cameron, where I will be taking me kids to, from noon to 4pm on Saturday 3rd November.
Then they have an Alison Bechdel signing on Tuesday November 13th, from 5pm till 7pm.
An aforementioned signing with Jason Aaron on November 13th from 5pm-7pm as part of Thought Bubble. The shop is partnering with Thought Bubble and will be selling their anthology from the 7th November with work from Sean Philips, Warren Ellis, Skottie Young, Fiona Staples, Tony Harris and more.
Reviving a tradition of my childhood with Krent Able's Big Book of Mischief launch party and exhibition on Tuesday 20th November from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Which is directly followed by Krent Able's Big Book of Mischief Club Night at White Heat, Madame JoJo's until late. That's one of those burlesque places I was talking about earlier… that will have Teeth of the Sea, Bitches, Vision Fortune, Krent Able DJ set, Stool Pigeon DJ set and a Berserker DJ set.
There a No Brow Party with John McNaught and Luke Pearson on Friday 23rd November 7pm – 9pm
And they are giving us a couple of new bookplates for new graphic novels, including the first Saga TPB and Will Morris' The Silver Darlings from Blank Slate.
