Ladies Fighting Comics

Little Bleeder Alexa writes;

Over on Tumblr, many of the female-oriented comics blogs have been holding tournaments for the best DC and Marvel superheroines and their memorable moments.

Ladies Making Comics has decided to get in on the game and is throwing a tournament for favorite female creators. Right now, the tourney is in its final round of nominations:

I'm taking nominees in these categories:

* Writer
* Artist
* Cartoonist (as in, primarily writes AND draws)
* Webcomics Creator (either writes, draws, or both), and
* Colorist or Inker

How To Nominate:

I've had a few more nomination posts (and if you replied to those, your nominees are still being counted!) but this is a final, clean one for you to use.

If you're on Tumblr, you can reblog it with nominees on your own Tumblr. Also, you can reply to this post, or send me an "Ask" or "Submit" message (which I believe I can get anonymously from non-members).

I have a Twitter account that you can sent a DM or @reply to: @LadiesMakeComix. Or you can send me a simple e-mail to ladiesmakingcomics@gmail.com

You can nominate as many creators as you want per category. If you've already nominated creators and want to add new ones, go ahead! I'll be taking nominations until 10pm EST on Sunday, January 9th. The first round of voting will begin on Tuesday, January 11th.

In 2010, Marvel had a Year of the Women, and we saw the rise of many female creators to new-found prominence. So what better way to start 2011 than by pitting them against each other in a popularity contest? Go make your nominations.
