Stephen King's Eyes Of The Dragon And Grey Legion Comic To Become SyFy TV Series

Novels and stories by Stephen King seem to have some kind of magic quality to them that makes them irresistible to movie and TV producers looking for something to adapt. Leaving out the sequels (mainly because I really don't need to be reminded of Carrie 2 any time in the next few decades), there are fifty-six TV and movie adaptations of King's work, and several more currently in development.

According to Entertainment Weekly, one of these projects in development is his 1987 fantasy novel The Eyes Of The Dragon, which will either be adapted into a movie or a miniseries by Syfy. Set in the fictional (at least, I think it's fictional – I'm the first to admit my geography isn't great) kingdom of Delain, the book tells the story of a young prince who is falsely accused of, and imprisoned for, the murder of his father. And there are demons and wizards and dragons and crap like that.

I should get a new career writing blurbs for books.

Syfy are also developing comic series Grey Legion into a series called Seeing Things. This genuinely sounds like a great concept – somewhere between Due South and Randall And Hopkirk Deceased. Grey Legion was written by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, who will also be an executive producer of the series, and is about a cop who is killed and is forced by a government agency to come back from the dead to carry out missions for them. His main goal, however, is to find out who killed him and reclaim the love of his life. In order to do this, he recruits a man with the power of social awkwardness, which apparently helps him to see ghosts, who is only just realising that the things he's seeing might not be hallucinations.

Two very interesting projects for Syfy, so let's hope that development progresses smoothly.
