'Total Devastation' – Can You Help The Comic Book Shop Underwater?
Yesterday, Bleeding Cool ran the sad news that the much loved 2 Tone Comics of Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire was, as were many other homes and businesses, underwater. One of many scenes of mass flooding across the country.
Today the owners were able to get to Hebden to assess the damage. They were
met by total devastation, not just our shop but all the shops in Hebden Bridge also lots of homes were affected it was heartbreaking to see , Peoples possessions being thrown out onto the streets so that they could get on with trying to clean up all the mud and debris that was deposited by the torrent that raged thru the town.
The shop was badly damaged and we have suffered the loss of the entire stock , fixtures and fittings , We honestly don't know if we can come back from this as like most businesses in Hebden were refused flood insurance after the flood in 2012.
Our hearts go out to all the people of the Calder valley and our thanks to all the volunteers , flood wardens , emergency services.
To try and get the town back on its feet will be a mammoth task.
once again a big thank you to all who have sent us messages your support is very much appreciated.
Those wishing to help the area can donate here+, but if you are a publisher, fellow store, creator or reader and want to specifically help the store, you can contact them through their Facebook page.
