Russell Brown Leaves Valiant Comics For Authentic Brands Group
We just mentioned that Mel Caylo has left Valiant Entertainment to become a new Synopsis Editor at Netflix. Well, he's not the only one on Valiant's marketing team to make a very recent switch.
Russell Brown was the Director Of Promotions and then the Executive VP of Licencing Promotion and Ad Sales at Marvel Comics from 1998 to 2003. He then co-founded 360EP with Bill Jemas, serving as President for two years, before moving into clothing and telecommunications. And in January 2013, he joined Valiant Entertainment as President, Consumer Products, Promotions and Ad Sales.
Well, as of this month, he has now taken the position as Senior VP Entertainment at Authentic Brands Group in New York, where he is responsible for ABG's entertainment strategy and development across all media, including TV/film, live events, books, music, and digital as they partner with creators and distributors on 'brand-defining projects that drive revenue and impact culture.' The owners of fashion, celebrity and media brands including Nine West and Sports Illustrated, they recently hit the headlines by being approved to buy Barneys New York Inc, currently going through bankruptcy.
Russell did not return enquiries made yesterday.
